The Service-Learning Showcase highlights high-quality examples of service-learning projects from across the country and around the world! This is a unique opportunity to connect with people and share how a service-learning project was implemented, how it was connected to curricular goals, and what made it effective. We encourage you to submit your high-quality showcase project to our website to shine a light on how service-learning is being implemented with young people across the world!
PODER en SALUD
As part of the national PODER en SALUD project led by NYLC, Latino youth from our community held focus groups and surveyed the community, and created COVID-19 prevention messages in English and Spanish last year. This year we investigated needs and discovered that mental health and drug use were big issues in our county. We created and held an education event on MLK Day that brought together over 150 people to learn about health issues.
