Education Equity VISTA

The Education Equity VISTA will increase the capacity of middle and high school youth to make significant changes in their communities through service-learning. The VISTA will create new materials (bibliography, presentations, blog posts, and other resources) on education equity and social justice topics. They will also revise NYLC’s youth toolkit from older print editions to create more effective digital versions with updates activities. Finally, the VISTA will create a structure for youth to mentor other youth within the program. Teams are located across the country so the VISTA will interact with them virtually. Youth Peer Leadership VISTA

The Board of Directors is responsible for overall policy, direction, business and property of NYLC. Directors come from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to provide wisdom, work, experience, personal connections, and financial support to the organization. The Board of Directors is unique in that it reflects NYLC’s authentic youth involvement by including three members of the Youth Advisory Council.
